VP Membership, Jonathan Reistad

Jonathan is a senior from Austin, Texas. He is majoring in Public Relations and Strategic Communications with a minor in Communication Studies. He is interested in many forms of public relations, especially crisis management. Additionally, he is fascinated by the power of social media. Along with serving as the VP of membership, he is a proud member of the Mustang Band.

VP of Public Relations, Lindsey Rickman

Lindsay is a senior with majors in Communication Studies, Political Science and Public Relations and a minor in Law & Legal Reasoning. She has a particular interest in political, crisis and legal communication. Lindsay has held positions in the Public Affairs office at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, including two semesters as a Public Affairs Intern and this past summer as the Social Media Coordinator. She currently interns in the Communications office at the SMU Dedman School of Law.

Career and PRSA Chairman, Mattie Casey 

Mattie Casey is a junior majoring in Communication Studies with minors in Human Rights and Advertising. She has worked as an intern in 2014 for the Texas Senate and was one of four students chosen to pioneer the new-and-improved 2015 SMU Mustang Corral.  To date, Mattie is a coordinator for SMU’s Student Foundation and is the president of SMU’s Honor Council. Mattie’s primary interests are organizational and nonprofit communication. Her ultimate goal is to establish a nonprofit benefiting people with disabilities and homeless animals.

Social Media, Website and Blog Chairman, Margaret Jones

Margaret is a junior majoring in Public Relations and Strategic Ccommunication with minors in English and Fashion Media. In 2014, she worked as an intern with Purple Logic Public Relations in Dallas. She currently volunteers as a tutor at Village Oaks Community Center for Behind Every Door, an organization promoting literacy in South Dallas. Margaret’s primary interests are non-profit communication as well as fashion public relations.

Special Events and Campaigns Chairman, Savannah Louie 

Savannah Louie is a senior with majors in Journalism and Public Relations, and minors in Human Rights and Women’s and Gender Studies. She is working as a broadcast intern for CBS-11 and as an event coordinator for The Philosophical Society of Texas. Savannah is a reporter for SMU-TV, and produces and hosts her own segment: Happenings on the Hilltop. She hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism as a reporter after she graduates this May

Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Bylaws Chairman, Gabrielle Bear

Gabrielle is a junior majoring in Public Relations and Srategic Communication, with minors in Business Administration and Statistics. She hopes this combination will help set her apart and allow her to end up in the public relations department of a big business. She is also practicing as a Project Consultant for mustangconsulting, works in the Meadows development office, and has internship experience. Gabrielle can’t wait to see what PRSSA has in store this year!

Speakers and Tours Chairman, Sydney Hafen

Sydney wants to live in a world where people are kind, emails are sSydneyhort, and the beach is never more than a short walk away. As a senior Public Relation major, junior account executive at Gangway Advertising, and published freelance writer, she strives to make the world a better place through kindness, consideration, and good, concise writing.
