Affect is a pr agency based in New York City and they are hosting a contest with the goal of hiring an intern for the summer. The winner of the New York Intern Project will win a hands-on, three-month internship at Affect, a $5,000 salary and a housing stipened of up to $2,500 to live in New York City for the summer. The winner will see firsthand how to manage public relations and social media accounts as well as attend New York public relations and social media events.
Students must submit a creative video or photo entry to the contest website on why they would make the ideal intern. To see videos from last year, visit the 2011 contest website.
The top five semi-finalists will be selected via public voting on the contest website, and a lucky sixth contestant will be chosen by the judges.
All six will be interviewed via Skype for a spot in the finals.
The top two finalists will be flown to New York to meet the Affect team and the winner will be announced at the beginning of May and the internship will begin in June.
The submission site will go live Monday, March 26th and the deadline to enter is April 27th. (PRSSA will update a link to the submission site as soon as it is available)
